After diagnoses, General Dentists perform procedures including dental extractions, dental implants, fillings, root canals, dental restoration, inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, veneers, teeth cleaning, preventative home care education, and fluoride treatment.

A General Dentist is also authorized to prescribe drugs, x-rays and orthodontic devices.

Crowns
Commonly dental crowns are referred to as "caps", and are used to repair damaged teeth, and improve the look of one or more teeth. The tooth is covered entirely with one of these crowns made from porcelain.

Bridges
A dental bridge might be used to fill the space left by teeth that are missing.
A dental bridge is made of one or more false teeth, and is fused between two or more of your natural teeth to fill in gaps and spaces left by missing teeth.
